Object Description
Fragmentary human adult remains of a probable female, reported to Heritage Western Cape by Dr. Friedling. Age at death may be advanced adulthood; bone histology will assist with this aspect of the analysis.
SAMPLE: Most of the rib bodies seem to be from lower in the thorax: inferior groove slight to none, very little A-P width. Many are split longitudinally or have erosion so that a complete cross-section is not available. I am choosing a piece that seems relatively thick and that has a groove. While it is definitely not R1 to 3, I cannot be sure it is not below R7. I think it has the best chance of being in the mid-thoracic area, and from middle of the curvature.
