    Description

    Remembrance of the first black female who became a professional nurse in South Africa. She was born in 1880 and died in 1919. In 1912 she took part in the 1st women anti pass campaign and later went to Lovedale to resume work until she was granted leave because of her health issues. In Lovedale Hospital its where her first Statue was erected in 1977 and after that they named a hospital in Mdantsane after her.

I will hold in confidence all personal matters coming to my knowledge. I will not permit consideration of religion, nationality, race or social standing to intervene between my duty and my patient.
