Buffelsfontein East Opencast Mining Project

Buffelsfontein East forms part of the existing mining right area and is operated by Samancor Chrome Ltd. Opencast and underground mining was undertaken through existing EMPs and WUL at Pits A, B & C. An application is made in terms of NEMA, Section 102 of the MPRDA and NWA to allow Samancor Chrome Ltd to mine seams that were not previously authorised and develop associated infrastructure. The project is located on Portions: 28, 35, 104, 118, 119, 120, 128 and 139 of the Farm Buffelsfontein 465 JQ in the North West Province, Madibeng Local Municipality.
