Object Description
The Erfkroon 2025 OSL samples consist of sands, silts, and gravels collected for the purposes of optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating. The samples are Pleistocene in age, and were collected from two locales in the Erfkroon study area (Area M, Area N). Sample counts are as follows: Area M=7, Area N=6. All samples are stored in copper metal tubing to prevent exposure to light until they can be prepared for dating at the Luminescence Dating Laboratory located at the University of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
Provenance
OSL samples were collected from two geological profile exposures located in the main eroded donga at the site of Erfkroon. The samples range in depth from ~80-270 cm below the modern surface.
