This church building is situated on the same site where the first Dutch Reformed Church in Cradock was built between 1821 and 1824. Construction work on the present church commenced in January 1864 and it was consecrated on 10 September 1868. As reagrds its architecture, this particularly tall church shows a remarkable resemblance to the church of St Martins-in-the-Fields in London. The building is in the neo-classical style with tall doric pillars and a beautiful pulpit.
