This magnificent double-storeyed building, which is a fine example of neo-Rennaissance revivalism, was erected in two stages. The original building was erected on Lot 11 in 1900 and extended onto Lot 12 in 1927. The building, which is prominently situated on a corner site, forms an integral part of the architectural townscape of East London and is a landmark in the town.
