      Statement of Significance

      These three beacons form part of the boundary line between the Free State and Griqualand West which Sir Charles Warren and Jos. E de Villiers established in 1876 and 1877. This marked the end of the so-called Diamond Fields Dispute.

      The three survey beacons, together with three metres of land around each beacon, situate on the property described as follows:
      (a) Certain remaining extent of the farm Ramah 706, situate in the District of Fauresmith.
      Deed of Transfer 5705/1945, dated 26 November 1945.
      (b) Certain piece of abolished quitrent land, being the remaining extent of the farm known as Ramah H 60, situate in the Division of Herbert.
      Deed of Transfer 461/1945, dated 29 October 1945.
