This building, which was erected in 1897, is a typical example of a pioneer house. It is one of the oldest buildings in Kenhardt and is of great historical importance to the area.

The property with the historic old library building thereon, situate on :
(1) Certain piece of land situate in the Municipality and Divisio of Kenhardt, being Erf 1119, Kenhard, and measuring nineteen (19) square roods, sixty-four (64) square feet; and
(2) Certain piece of land situate as above, being Erf 1120, Kenhardt and measuring four (4) square roods, one hundred and twenty-four (124) square feet.
