      Statement of Significance

      These five properties form an integral part of the historical core of Montagu, which was largely laid out on the farm Uitvlugt in 1850. The buildings which are situated in Long Street, the oldest street in the town, as well as Bath Street, which serves as main road, date from the late nineteenth century and reflect the Cape Dutch and Victorian styles of building.
