Statement of Significance

HISTORICAL INTEREST_x000D_
This land served as a camping ground for Batavian and_x000D_
british troops during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries._x000D_
Later it was reserved for the use of the public for recreation purposes. In 1870 it was transferred to the Municipality of Rondebosch and Mowbray.
