      Statement of Significance

      The original portion of the sandstone homestead was according to oral traditional erected in about 1850 by Philip Roedolf Fourie, the first owner of Wolhuterskop. Once restored the homestead, outbuildings and cemetery can serve as a fine example of a typical Free State farm lay-out.
