There may be an error in the gazette. The quoted current erf extent does not cover the full site. Gazette speaks to Erf 144 but church building exceeds erf size (it spills to 140 & 141). Gazette mentions property and building thereon, church property seems to extend to the whole block (Erf 139, 140, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145). Guidance is needed with regards to the extent of site.

This impressive sandstone church with its Byzantine and neoclassical elements was designed by the well-known architect Gerhard Moerdyk and erected by the builder F. Barker. This church, which is one of the largest stone churches in South Africa, was officially inaugurated on 31 March 1928.
