      Statement of Significance

      The sandstone building with its Neo-Classical features was designed by J H & A E Till. It was officially opened on 7 June 1907 by Sir Hamilton Goold-Adams, Lieutenant-Governor of the Orange River Colony. It forms part of an important architectural group and is a landmark in the town.
