This historic church building was designed by the architects J. H. and A. E. Till and built in sandstone by the contractors Rowe, Marshall and Hill. The building was consecrated in 1896. _x000D_
The Church Square is enclosed by a wall on which fossil tree trunks were placed in the forties.

The Church Square, with the Dutch Reformed Mother Church thereon, at Senekal, consiting of -
(1) Erf 284 (formerly known as "een zeker stuk grond of Droog Erf No. 284") situate in the town of Senekal and measuring two hundred and seventy-seven (277) square roods and one hundred and twelve (112) square feet;
(2) Erf 324, situate in the 5own of Senekal and measuring three hundred and forty-seven (347) square roods and thirty-two (32) square feet.
Deed of Transfer 24259/1881, dated 21 January 1881 (Erg 284), and 11894/1905, dated 25 February 1905 (Erf 324).
