    The farm on which Greystone is situated formed part of the farm Veglaer where in 1838 a group of Voortrekkers resisted a Zulu army; it was inhabited by the Pretorius family until 1869, when it was taken over by William Moor; used by Veld & Vlei 1968.

      The Greystone farmhouse, together with 10 metres of surrounding land, situate on Subdivision 19 (a subdivision of A) of the farm Vegt Lagar 801, situate in the County of Weenen, Province of Natal. Single storey farmhouse with verandas to front and side, wide stone steps leading to main entrance, gabled bay window, wooden sliding sash windows and doors, decorative wooden barge boarding.
      Alteration: Side Verandah enclosed (since restored): new kitchen and store added to rear.
