      Bloukrans Distrik Weenen, grundbreif No. 398/98 van restant van restant van rama, Weenen en grondbre. The monument is in fairly good condition, but the white marble friezes on either side have been chipped: Directions" Sign "Blaaukrans' from N3, take first left forkin road towards Colenso (no sign at this point)
      History: Part of the Bloukrans valley where Vortrekker laagers were attacked by Zulu impi on 17th February 1838, resulting in the death of 96 adults, 185 children and abou 200 servants; many deds of heroism recorded when a counter-attack was launched.
