    The field recorder was not exactly clear which of the features of the museum/homestead is a monument. I have treated the entire homestead/museum as a memorial therefore noting all of the inscriptions and the features of the entire site are not a single record but can be viewed via the images.

    Commemorate the life of King Mpande. King Mpande lived to a ripe age although he suffered from a severe rheumatism. He passed away in 1872 in his late 80s.

    Inscription: From Eshowe the road runs northwards across a picturesque landscape of fertile rolling hills and deep forested kloofs into the heart of Zululand. It crosses the Mhlatuzi, passes through Melmoth, crosses the Ntonjaneni Hills and then the White Umfolozi River.
