      Statement of Significance

      Clark House was erected in 1887 and the adjoining Victoria Hall in 1895. These buildings housed the original Pietermaritzburg High School. _x000D_
      Clark House itself is built in the Neo-Gothic style and is one of the best-known school buildings in South Africa.
