Inscription in a Plaque :To the memory if Petrus Lafras Uys ,Commandant of the Burger force in the Zulu was 1879,who fell whilst fighting in the attack on the Hlobani ,March 28.This monument is erected by his fellow Burgers of the town and District of Utrecht and Officers and Men of the flying column under the command of General Wood ,under with whom he served .A token of their admiration and respect.
