Mr. Oliver Reginald Tambo a teacher, lawyer, freedom fighter and an internationalist andPresident of the African National Congress (1967-1991). He laid foundations and led theexternal chapter of the ANC from 195 8-91 and brought about the atrocities of the apartheidregime into the attention of the international community."It is our responsibility to break down barriers of division and create a country where there willbe neither Whites nor Blacks, just South Africans, free and united in diversity."He initiated campaigns for its diplomatic, cultural and economic isolation. He built the ANCinto a formidable mass liberation movement, regional anti-colonial resistance army, internationalanti- apartheid movement and a highly sought after diplomatic political negotiating team.
