Statement of Significance
Albert Ndoyisile Xhamfu, popularly known as ‘Ndoyi’ was born and grew up in Thabong (Welkom). Like many other students at the time, he experienced the injustices of the apartheid government concerning the inferior standard of education which was given to blacks. Owing to such imbalances, in as far as education and the general appalling living conditions to which blacks were subjected, Ndoyi was instrumental in ushering in political conscientisation to many of the students and youth in Thabong. His political influence spread to places such as Odendaalsrus and Bloemfontein
